LTE Advanced(LTE-A) can be three or four times faster than current U.S. LTE and the a new Samsung Galaxy S 4 in Korea will support the spectrum when it is sold in Korea in the coming weeks. J.K. Shin Co-CEO told Reuters that it will be coming overseas and some are hoping it will land in the U.S. soon while Samsung tablet sales are tabulated.
Samsung now claims it is the first to launch a commercial advanced 4G smartphone. The LTE-A Samsung Galaxy S 4 will use QUALCOMM chips. The new model with LTE-A will cost a little more than the original Samsung Galaxy S 4.
U.S. LTE-A speeds are expected to be as high as 150Mbps. AT&T LTE Advanced will be launched in the second half of this year. Verizon Wireless plans to deploy LTE-A via its AWS spectrum soon and T-Mobile has not revealed LTE-A plans, yet. While an L verison of the Samsung Galaxy S 4 appeared in the Bluetooh Sig, recently along with leaks of limited edition model.
Shin also said that sales of Samsung Galaxy tablets in the US have increased 3.3 times since the opening of Samsung shops and Best Buy retail outlets.
