Top Ten Best Smartphones Countdown: AT&T & Sprint Top Carriers - iPhone 3GS, Droid 2, Samsung Fascinate & myTouch 4G 9th

WMNTOPTEN BEStSmarphoneCarriers.JPGAs far as competition goes for smartphones, this year there has never been a year with so many powerful smartphones with extensive features on the market.  After we rounded up reviews, holiday buying guides, and most popular lists
from the best sources we could find, including picks from PCMag, PCWorld, Consumer Reports, ZDNet, Top 10 Reviews and Laptop, we found ties at many levels.  Almost all of the winners have a 1GHz processor, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and at least a 5-megapixel camera except for 9th place.

In fact, as far as carriers go, T-Mobile and AT&T tied for the top number of smartphones in the list, followed by Verizon and Sprint.  T-Mobile was bolstered by all it's Android offerings, and AT&T was supported by two iPhone models appearing on the list.

Ninth place in the Wireless and Mobile News' Top Ten Best Smartphones Review of Reviews is a four-way tie.  Each of the following smartphones were mentioned on at least two of the lists we reviewed.  Current prices on them range below $50 with online retailers.
Samsung Fascinate
Verizon - user-friendly and elegantly designed, with a solid camera.  Some reviewers didn't like that Bing is the default search engine.  Currently available at Amazon Wireless for $39.99 with a new contract.

myTouch 4G T-Mobile - there's plenty to love, including "4G"
speed, design and call quality.  As of this writing, the myTouch 4G is
available in Black, Red or White for $49 at Amazon Wireless with a new contract.

iPhone 3GS AT&T - a carry-over from last year's list, the
iPhone 3GS is one of few smartphones on our list with a 600MHz
processor.  The only discounts found on iPhones are through AT&T if
you buy a refurbished one or trade in a previous model at Radio Shack.
Droid 2  - The second generation Droid with a better keyboard and more speed.  The latest version, the Droid 2 Global with 1.2GHz processor, is selling for $39.99 at Amazon Wireless with a new contract.
