Verizon Wireless reportedly skipped the Samsung Galaxy S II for Samsung Droid Prime aka Nexus Prime. We now have confirmation that the Samsung Galaxy Prime model number SCH-1515 exists because it has achieved Wi-Fi and Bluetooth certification .
Usually smartphones are released within a few months of these certifications, suggesting that the pre-holiday October release date for the Samsung Droid Prime could be correct. Then instead of the Droid Bionic being the phone everyone is waiting for, it will be the Samsung Droid Prime.
The Droid Prime is expected to be the most powerful smartphone on the Verizon Wierless network with reportedly all the latest bells and whistles including: 4.5" Super AMOLED HD touchscreen, 1.5GHz dual-core processor and Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
It may have 1GB of RAM, 1080p HD video capture and playback, a front-facing camera, and a 5-megapixel rear camera. It supposedly will be without hard buttons for navigation.
Other proof that Samsung is making the Nexus Prime was that Samsung sent a cease and desist letter to someone with Nexus Prime software.
