While rumors abound about the next HTC smartphone coming to Verizon Wireless, accessories for the Vigor by HTC will be sold by Verizon Wireless because the Verizon website shows it. Accesories inlclude two headsets and battery booster.
The HTC Vigor is the heir apparent for the HTC ThunderBolt that just had its update to Android 2.3 suspended. It has also been referred to as the Incredible HD or HTC Rezound.
A quick search on the U.S. Trademark database revealed that the trademark for the "HTC Rezound" was filed on September 20, 2011. HTC apparently trademarked the name Vigor in 2009.
It may be case of names causing problems. HTC originally wanted to call the HTC Status, the HTC ChaCha but due to protests from the text service ChaCha, changed its name.
There are a bunch of trademarks for Vigor as a name for watches and sportwear which may infringe.
What gets even more confusing is that the CelleBrite system used by wireless dealers shows the HTC Vigor with its FCC number PH98100 and then name Vigor. We should know soon what the new HTC will be called because it is rumored to be release don October 13 or 20.
The HTC Rezound appeared in a Verizon inventory shot with the same model number as the HTC Vigor. The Rezound name supposedly comes from the enhanced Beats audio by Dr. Dre.
The HTC Vigor has been rumored to be more powerful than the Droid Bionic, with greater battery life than the HTC ThunderBolt and with faster 4G LTE speeds. We now know for sure that the HTC Vigor will have 4G LTE access because the spectrum is shown in the FCC filings to support Verizon's 4G LTE network as well as CDMA, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
The HTC Vigor has been shown in leaked photographs to have a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor running Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread and Verizon 4G LTE data access. It also has a 4.3" HD touchscreen, 8MP camera, front-facing camera, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
The HTC ThunderBolt is the most popular 4G LTE smartphone on the Verizon 4G LTE network, but has had battery issues.
Recently, HTC tweeted about our HTC EVO 3D, HTC Sensation 4G and myTouch 4G Slide battery-life-saving article which made it one of the most-read articles for that week. The 4G LTE network access draws a lot of battery juice and hopefully the HTC Vigor will have better battery life.
The HTC Vigor which looks and acts a lot like the HTC Amaze a super-camera 1.5GHz dual-core powerhouse due from T-Mobile on October 12
Vigor was actually trademarked by HTC on July 7, 2009.
