There's good news for Asus Transformer Prime fans, the super quad-core tablet is back in stock for shipping to stores in 3-5 days just in time for than Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update on January 12.
As of this writing, BestBuy.com shows stock of the Asus Transformer Prime 32GB in Gray ready to ship. In the past, BestBuy.com availability for the Transformer didn't last long. On Tuesday, Asus stated "Now, we are continuing to make the Transformer Prime available in the worldwide market, and doing our best to fulfill the incredible demand."
The Asus Transformer Prime was named the coolest tablet of 2011 by Wireless and Mobile News for its transforming into a netbook computer with a dock.
The Asus Transformer Prime has a quad-core processor. It is 8.3mm thin and weighs 586g, which is a bit heavier than the Tab 10.1, but lighter than the iPad 2. Features include, a mini-HDMI output, a microSD slot, a 1280 x 800 Super IPS+ Gorilla Glass touchscreen, a 1GB of RAM, a gyroscope, a SonicMaster audio, a 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera and an 8MP camera with 1080p video recording. There is special keyboard dock that turns the Asus Transformer Prime into what looks like the Asus Zenbook.
Asus recently stated that there will be a tool for unlocking the boottloader.
