Today was rife with iPad rumors which may or may not be true. They will be boiling all night until the Apple announcement tomorrow.
Here's the latest we've found on the iPad 3 aka iPad HD:
- Mashable, VentureBeat and CNET claim that new tablet will be called the iPad HD and have a high-resolution display with 2,048 by 1,536 pixel resolution making it the only tablet at 1080p. This would cause developers to have upgrade their apps which would have to be larger to meet the screen size.
- The new Google TV will work with the HD resolution of the iPad HD.
- Some say the iPad 3 will have pressure sensitive stylus.
- There could be a smart cover at launch.
- 4G LTE connectivity.
- More powerful processor reportedly a quad-core Apple A6 processor or A5X super dual-core SoC.
- Some believe the new iPad 3 HD will go on sale in Apple stores on Friday March 16.
- Better thicker battery to accommodate the higher resolution screen and 4G LTE access.
- Better camera which could be 8MP.
- Verizon Wireless is teasing something coming which may or may not a new iPad.
- AT&T LTE access.
- Pricing consistent with previous iPad starting at $499 for the lowest GB Wi-Fi model.
- Siri - Siri has grown in popularity, uses a lot of data and has become a Statue of Liberty for iPhones, she may make an appearance on the iPad HD/3, most likely for voice-to-text dictation.
- Many are hoping that iPad 2 models will be reduced in price.
- Some say it will be modest upgrade.
On the other end of the scale are reports of an iPad mini 7" tablet to compete with the Kindle Fire.
There was a similar spate of rumors just before the iPhone 4S announcement which evaporated the day Apple finally announced its new product lineup.
A new study found that one out of three mobile users wanted to buy the new iPad 3/HD.
The iPad 2 is not without issues there are some fixes for its problems including Wi-Fi, screen and iTunes problems.
