HTC will use LogMeIn Rescue remote support and customer care in its call centers all over the world to support HTC customers.
Future Android HTC devices will feature LogMeIn Rescue. HTC customer care and support staff can configure, diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues via a data connection.
HTC will predeploy a user-enabled LogMeIn Rescue applet on future HTC Android devices, with the mobile carrier's consent.
Upcoming HTC models will be the HTC One X, HTC One S or HTC Jet or whatever it is named.
This is going to be a very data intensive operation which is not a problem if you have unlimited data. We were wondering who is going to pay for the data use. If we were using the service we would make sure that we were using unlimited Wi-Fi. We have contacted the LogMeIn PR rep to find out who will pay for the data.
HTC technicians can only take over a smartphone remotely with user permission.
The pre-deployed applet gives customers the ability to securely connect their devices to HTC customer care representatives during active support calls. Once connected, HTC technicians can run remote diagnostics, push common device and network configuration settings, and remotely control the customer's device to resolve issues.
