It's been a good week for leaked information about Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) update release dates. While the Samsung Galaxy S II in some parts of the world has gotten and update, T-Mobile is readying an updates for mid May. June will be a good month for T-Mobile HTC recent model owners.
According to a leaked T-Mobile "Sales Operations Service-2012 Enterprise Calendar" the Samsung Galaxy S II on T-Mobile may get the ICS upgrade on May 14. The HTC Sensation 4G and Amaze 4G ICS updates are slated for June 16, reported TmoNews.
The Samsung Galaxy S II will may have to completed via the mini Kies computer software. This could also herald the release of updates for other carriers. Last year, the Samsung Galaxy update for the first Samsung Galaxy came first for the Samsung Vibrant from T-Mobile, then for the Samsung Epic 4G from Sprint, Samsung Captivate (AT&T) and then Samsung Fascinate Captivate. The updates to Froyo took even longer with the Captivate from AT&T getting the update last.
Samsung announced what models would be updated to Android 4.0, earlier and did not disclosure any information about T-Mobile. HTC announced in March that they would be upgrading the HTC Amaze 4G, and Sensation 4G.
Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich adds some features such as Android Beam, Face Unlock, a new UI and improved camera (see all features and video).
