VZW Dobule Data Exact End Time 6/5 & Unlimited Grandfathering for Samsung Galaxy S III

If you are wondering when the double data 4G LTE deal will end for Verizon Wireless, we contacted Verizon spokeswoman Brenda Raney who informed us of the exact time.  Verizon public relations has also clarified the grandfathering of unlimited data for preorders of the Samsung Galaxy S III.

If you are trying to sneak in on the 4G LTE double data deal Verizon Wireless before the changes to share plans and other plans not announced yet, you have until 1:00 am EDT June 6, which is 10:00 pm PDT on June 5.  Verizon stores will closed by then, therefore your best bets will be through Verizon Wireless or online retailers (who extend the deal another hour).

West coast retailer  Amazon is extending the Verizon Double Data Deal until 11;59 PDT June 5, "while supplies last" according to this Amazon page while another learn more page states June 6 11:59 PM June 6 2012, which may or may not be at typo.  At 10:00 PDT on 6/4 the Wirefly countdown showed 26 hours left suggesting that their sale will also end at 11:59 PM PDT.

The double 4G LTE data deal is $30 for 4GB, $50 for 10GB and $80 for 20GB. Following the end it will  be half the data for the same prices until the next round of data plan changes at Verizon Wireless.

Verizon confirmed that those who already have a grandfather unlimited data plan with a smartphone will be able to preorder the Samsung Galaxy S III and keep their unlimited plans.

You may be asking why are we going through all these details?  Last month, Verizon reported that it will change its data plans to shared data.  Once Verizon Wireless goes to shared data the only way to keep an unlimited data plan is to pay full retail price for the device.

So far, Verizon has not announce an exact date for the change of data plans.

The Samsung Galaxy S III will be available for preorder from Verizon Wireless on June 6 at 7:00 AM EDT, customers can the purchase 2GB of data for $30 a month with the $199.99 16GB or $249.99 32GB models with a contract.

You have 14 days to return the phone but there is a $35  restocking fee and it must be returned in original packaging.
