Life Wireless offers free cell phone service to low-income people as well as other providers.
Life Wireless is running public service announcements that show overviews of the Lifeline program, including its rules and regulations. The PSAs will run for two months in 10 markets.
Life Wireless is not the only company that offers free cellphones for low-income customers.
There are other companies free cell phones for low income people, in many states, including free text messages with some plans. The other two other companies are Safelink and Assurance Wireless.
Text messages can be included in the free low-income plans, at different rates. Assurance Wireless offer the most text and minutes. Safelink has three different options as does Life Wireless.
There are also programs for free cell phones for families of military personnel.

There is no free cell phone Lifeline service for low-income households in 15 non-participating states that include Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Vermont and Wyoming.
