BlackBerry and RIM are trying to get back into the smartphone game. What better way to garner attention than to buy an ad during the Super Bowl?
RIM will be paying millions of dollars for a spot during the game to promote BlackBerry 10 Most big device companies like Samsung usually stays quiet about how much they pay and when they will appear in a Super Bowl commercial. Last year, the Samsung Galaxy Note kicked off its season and United States during the Super Bowl.
RIM released a news release stating that not only would there be a 32nd ad but pre-and post game digital and social media activities during the big game on Facebook and Twitter as well a promoted posts and sponsored ads.
BlackBerry has 30 million social media fans, and we're looking forward to continuing to encourage them and all NFL football fans to see the power of BlackBerry 10 for themselves."
Other big spenders at the game will be Anheuser Bush with a new beer, ETrade's talking baby, GoDaddy, Hyundai motors and the Milk eEucation program to encourage drinking milk.
Last Year, Shazam was integrated into the Super Bowl experience. The stadium wireless infrastructure was enhanced by AT&T and Verizon Wireless offered deals along with apps. 83% of mobiles will usded their phone at least as much as they did during Super Bowl XLV.
