HTC One (X) Update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

HTC One XToday is update day for the HTC One X can now be updated to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean over Wi-Fi. The Droid RAZR/Maxx is getting an update this week and other Android updates are scheduled to be released soon including 4.2.2 for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

The HTC One x update adds some AT&T software and Isis payments as well as HTC Sense 4. The update also improves power management and fixes  AT&T Address Book .

Android Jelly Bean 4.1 offers a better keyboard and is faster/smoother (read features). To check if an update is available  go to Settings > System > About phone > System updates.  Follow prompts to download and install the update. AT&T noted that you must be connected to Wi-Fi for the update.

It is always a good idea to backup your data before starting an update. You can't make or receive calls during the update process. Make sure that your HTC One X is a least 30% charged. Connect the device to the charge and set aside twenty minutes for the process.

WARNING: During the upgrade process the device will reboot multiple times and show software upgrade screens. Do not power the device off as this will stop the update and your device may be rendered inoperable.
