Samsung announced a few days ago that wireless charging accessories were available for the Samsung Galaxy S 4. We checked today and the battery cover and charging pad are completely sold-out and backordered at Samsung online.
Until Samsung restocks the accessories, you will have use the USB charger. For practice here are instructions on how wireless charging works on the Samsung Galaxy S 4.
Wireless Charging Instructions the Galaxy S 4
In order to charge wirelessly, you need a battery-cover and charging pad.
First you place the battery cover/case on the GS 4. Remove the cover that came with it and then replace it with the Galaxy S 4 wireless battery cover ( $39.99)
Then put your GS 4 on the wireless charging pad ($49.99) and it will begin charging.
The LED indicator on the charger will turn green if your phone is properly charging or will turn yellow if your phone is not in the right place. Qi-certified by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) is the universal standard for wireless charging.
Other Possible Solutions?
It is possible that if you can't get the charging pad you could use another brand Qi charging unit. We have not been able to find a replace wireless charging cover for the Samsung Galaxy S 4. You have to be very careful when buying accessories, it may void you warranty if they are not used properly.
The Samsung Galaxy S 4 is currently the most popular and fast-selling Samsung Galaxy S device on the market. Recently, sales predictions were lowered. The sales of the wireless accessories, however are faster than expected.
