After many commercials bash mothers for owning iPhones, it seem Mom may really want an iPhone or iPad according to a recent survey by Rebtel.

Yes, Mom does want you to call her on the voice phone, 60.7 percent of moms said they are expecting a call from their son or daughter this Mother's Day.  And they want it more than other gifts, mothers surveyed wanted voice/phone call (31.0 percent)  over a hug (27.6 percent) flowers (16.1 percent), and jewelry (3.4).

Google released its Wireless Shopper Study for April 2013 and it showed some major trends in smartphone buying and shopping. Shoppers search for the device weeks before buying and now that many devices are available across carriers, they decide on the device first and then may change carriers for the best deal, especially if there is no contract necessary or the device has 4G LTE data access.

Depending upon the research, the winner of the Apple iPhone vs Android market share race changes. ComScore's market share report ranked by subscribers shows the Apple market share increased in February.

This makes sense because new smartphone owners, are later adopters, and when Grandma or a newbie buys a smartphone, they are told by their friends and relatives to get an iPhone, because it's easier to use.  The figure includes December when iPhones were popular holiday gifts.
