Wi-Fi enabled tablets are surely the most popular and Samsung will be launching two new Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Wi-Fi tablets on April 22, and May 13.

The Galaxy Tab 2 Series are 1.2GHz dual-core tablets running the latest version of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

While the HTC Vivid is getting its taste of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, AT&T smartphone owners with newer model smartphones and tablet releases will also be able to get updates in the future.

AT&T devices that will be update are.

Samsung Captivate Glide - is geared for business with enterprise features and a keyboard.
Samsung Galaxy Note - noted for love, super models and FCUisodes.

More LTE 4 new iPad, HTC One X, Samsung Galaxy Note, S II Skyrocket & Tab 8.9

 AT&T announced it  added LTE service to twelve more metros in April. After the launch AT&T LTE data service will cover 28 markets and a population of 74 million.

The new 4G LTE markets are:

Staten Island, New York.
New Orleans and Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
St. Louis, Missouri.
Cleveland, Canton and Akron Ohio.
Naples, Florida.
Bloomington, Lafayette and Muncie, Indiana.
Bryan-College Station, Texas.

Verizon Wireless has released a list of  smartphones  and tablets that it are scheduled to be updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.  There is only one surprise in the list and it rhymes with "time."

Basically, 4 LTE smartphones released in the fall and later in 2011 plus the HTC ThunderBolt, Droid Incredible 2 and HTC Rhyme will be upgraded. The tablets updated will include the Motorola Xoom, all Xyboard tablets and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1/7.7.

Verizon Wireless starts selling the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 today for $499.99, the first Super AMOLED Plus that connects to the Verizon 4G LTE network.  There are many good reasons for wanting to buy one which use the superlative, "super" for the world's thinnest 4G LTE tablet.  It has also been called 7x the power of a Kindle Fire.

The latest benchmark tests show the  Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 to be faster than the Asus Transformer Prime, Galaxy Tab 10.1, original Tab 7 and Galaxy Nexus.

U.S. Cellular's new 4G LTE network will cover 25 percent of U.S. Cellular's customer. The network will launch along with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 4G LTE mobile tablet in March  followed by the  Samsung Galaxy S Aviator 4G LTE smartphone in April.

The new 4G LTE network should have download and browser speeds that are up to 10 times faster than 3G and be similar to a cable Internet connection.

At CES, Verizon Wireless revealed the first Super AMOLED Plus tablet the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 that will connect to the Verizon 4G LTE network.  There are many good reasons for wanting to own it which use the superlative, "super" for the world's thinnest 4G LTE tablet.

We reviewed first-looks of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7  that  gets a lot of Kudos. Reviewers say it makes its predecessor look out-of-date as well as out-of-style. Video quality is very high.

Over the holidays, there was hope that the Samsung Galaxy S line of smartphones could possibly be get an update to Android 4.00 Ice Cream Sandwich.. Now outlets are reporting there will not be an update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for the Samsung Galaxy Tab, Fascinate, Captivate, Vibrant, and Epic 4G. Some are still hoping for at least a few ICS features on these models.

2011 was the first year that the iPad finally had some competition.  The top competition came from fire-sale pricing, cool factors and innovation.

We called the HP TouchPad the "tablet that would not die." It's fire-sale pricing was so hot that after HP blew out the 16GB models for $99 and the 32GB models for $149, the tablets showed up on eBay for higher prices.

A blog post from Samsung which indicated that the original Samsung Galaxy S line of smartphones and Galaxy Tab tablets would not be updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich caused an uproar of complaints. Now, Samsung reportedly is reconsidering its decision not to update the Samsung Galaxy Tab, Fascinate, Captivate, Vibrant, and Epic 4G.

 

The Samsung Galaxy S was a huge hit last year.  The Samsung Galaxy S 4G is also named as the top best smartphones on the T-Mobile network.

The Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate, Captivate, Vibrant and Epic 4G will not be getting an update to the latest version of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS). The original Samsung Galaxy Tab 7" model won't be updated either.

Update 12/27/2011: There are new reports that suggest that Samsung is reconsidering its decision.

A blog post from Samsung reported that Samsung Galaxy S smartphones don't have enough RAM or ROM to run Android 4.0 along with the Samsung TouchWiz UI.

While Samsung had the honor of launching the first smartphone with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich software for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, most of its products launched with earlier versions of Android. Samsung has announced what popular Galaxy SII and Galaxy Tab tablets will be updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS).  The most recent models will be updated and announcements made later for release dates.

The ICS-upgradable devices are the Samsung Galaxy S II,  Samsung Galaxy S II LTE,  the Galaxy Note, Galaxy  Tab 10.1, Galaxy Tab 8.9, Galaxy Tab 7.7, and GALAXY Tab 7.0 Plus.
