We suspect that Amazon may sell-out of the Kindle Fire over the holidays. It hasn't sold-out of the Kindle Fire but it is selling very well. If there isn't another tablet or must-have device to compete with it in time for the holidays, we may have repeat of the original Kindle sell-out.
Amazon sold 95,000 Kindle Fire tablets during the device’s first day of presales according to DataSource. More than 250,000 Kindle Fire tablets have been preordered since Amazon announced it last Wednesday, according to a report from Cult of Android. It is averaging 50,000 preorders a day since its first day of sale.
Some are saying that it is the Amazon content that is fueling brisk sales because it has has as many TV shows, movies and music selections as its rival iTunes.
Peter King at Strategy Analytics noted in a recent WMNs interview, that The Kindle Fire is does not compete directly with iPad on the power side, but does has some of the good features of the iPad such as a content delivery system of books, apps, movies and its own ecosystem. More importantly, “The Kindle Fire acts as a check-out station, for Amazon purchases,” said King.
According to iHS iSuppli the Kindle Fire potentially could become the No. 2 selling tablet after the iPad, even though it cost more to make than what its $199 price tag.
The Amazon Kindle Fire is on presale from Amazon now and will be released on November 15. The best deal of all tablets was the HP TouchPad fire sale. HP showed some more in TouchPads for $219.999(16GB) and $249.99(32GB), online, yesterday, that were listed as out-of-stock.
