Droid DNA Review of Tips with New Beats Pill by Dr. Dre

The Droid DNA has many great features Beats Audio and NFC.  We were able see how smoothly the two work together with a demonstration by Verizon's Albert Aydin (video follows).

Aydin shows some of the Droid DNA' features says that with NFC you can tap the Beats Pill audio speaker and Bluetooth will automatically pair. All you have do is tap the Droid DNA onto the NFC chip and your ready to stream audio or use it as a speakerphone.

Once the devices are paired and the music is playing you can control the volume with the Droid DNA or another device connected by Bluetooth.  The audio is sent over Bluetooth, while the pairing is automated over NFC.

The Beats Pill is shaped like pharmaceutical pill, and offers some truly good sound for such a small device because it has enhanced Beats Audio by Dr. Dre. Features of the Beats Pill include NFC, aptX technology, microUSB , audio in /out for full connectivity, and an integrated microphone so that it can used as speaker phone. The Beat Pill has four built-in speakers for "soaring highs and deep bass." It is about 5" long which is a little bit smaller than the Droid DNA's length.

On the Beats Pill you the is a volume control and there's an NFC tap spot on the back by the power button. It will also work with other NFC devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Nokia Lumna 920 and Samsung Galaxy S III.  You will only however gets the Beats Audio enhancement from devices that can play Beats Audio therefore it is best used with an HTC device such as the Droid DNA, Windows Phone 8X, HTC One X +, HTC Rezound or other best HTC smartphones.

Battery life of the Beats Pill is about seven hours.  It will be available from Verizon Wireless, soon. Other retailers such as Best Buy. are selling the Beats Pill for $199.99, Verizon Wireless pricing should be similar.

When you use NFC be sure to know where the NFC point is.
