  • U.S. Cellular released the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the HTC Merge.
  • The Bluetooth SIG launched its 7th annual Bluetooth Best of CES awards. This year’s program asks companies and consumers to submit the best and most innovative Bluetooth enabled products.
  • The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) announced today that registration has opened for the Mobile Apps Showdown at the 2012 International CES scheduled for January 10-13, 2012.  Now in its third year at the International CES, this event, honoring the best smartphone and tablet apps, will take place on Thursday, January 12, 2012.
  • Kensington introduced new security devices  for iPad and iPhone.  BungeeAir alerts users if their iPhone is accidentally left behind or stolen. SecureBack enables the iPad to be physically locked to a stationary device.
