Currently, Walmart is airing a commercial for the Samsung Galaxy S III from Sprint, for $148 and a $50 gift card similar to their Black Friday weekend sale. The Walmart price, however is not the cheapest price, depending upon your circumstances.
First off, the well reviewed Samsung Galaxy S III was named the top smartphone of 2012, and has gained a great following and offers all kinds of neat features (see video beginner / advanced tips). On March 15, Samsung will announce the Samsung Galaxy S IV which will probably be available sometime in the summer and be discounted in the fall. If you want the latest, greatest, fastest Samsung Galaxy S smartphone, you may want to wait.
How Far do You Want to Go?
The first thing to consider, when you are looking at a Walmart deal, is how far away the store is. Some of our readers were shocked to learn that in Los Angeles many have to drive almost an hour to get to a Walmart. In some parts of the country customers have their choice of several Walmarts within driving distance. If the Walmart is not near you and you have to drive a long distance to use the gift card, it is less valuable to you. The deal is "in stores" only.
It is always a good idea call the Walmart store to see if the model you want is in stock as well as confirm the price you will pay.

The Walmart deal is only for the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III. Sprint is currently running ads that say Get the Samsung Galaxy S III for only $99.99. Valid for new lines only. Renewing customers pay more. For the new customers you can buy it from Sprint the same price after the gift card at Walmart.
Amazon Best for Sprint, VZW, A&T
Meanwhile, we checked with online retailer Amazon to find some better cheaper deals on the Samsung Galaxy S III for some carriers. New customers get the best discounts. In fact a new Sprint customer on Amazon can buy the Samsung Galaxy S III
