Face Unlock Samsung Galaxy NexuThe Samsung Galaxy Nexus made an appearance in Jakarta at a Galaxy Note release event and Soyacincau.com was nice enough to video the new super smartphone doing some tricks and Android 4.0 features.  There was a  glitch in the face recognition department (videos follow).

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus release date has not been announced, yet, in the United States it could later this month or a little bit later this year.  It is not expected in Malaysia until next year.

The announcer* from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia demonstrates that taking photos is super fast by clicking repeatedly with his thumb, showing the zero shutter lag on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.  The photos look very good too.

He shows the clean modern interface and new notification tray.   There are no hard buttons, the buttons on the screen look very clear.   The multitasking tray is responsive.  The voice dictation feature includes many languages.  Most features are very responsive and fast except for when he talks to it or shows it his photo.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus Later this MOnthSamsung VP  of product planning Nick DiCarlo made an appearance along with a Samsung Galaxy Nexus on Fox Business' After the Bell.  Although some are saying there is nothing new from the interview.  The text on the screen shows "Samsung to  release Galaxy Nexus later this month" while DiCarlo does not mention a month or date(video follows).

In the interview, reporter Liz Claman said that she asked every CEO in the Silicon Valley to show her the smartphone they were using. Some had gotten the Samsung Galaxy Nexus at AllThings Digitial in Asia when it was announced.  Samsung Galaxy Nexus owners told her how much they loved it, which inspired her to asks DiCarlo to make a visit to the show.

Cases for Samsung Galaxy Nexus Release Date Soon and Great Battery

While we know for sure that Droid RAZR will be here this Friday at 11:11 am and the HTC Rezound is coming on 11/14, it's not clear yet when the Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be launched.  There are a few cases for it coming soon with great battery life.

There are reports that a holster shell case and silicone cover case have been seen at Verizon retail stores suggesting that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be released soon.  There are also compatible cases available from Amazon.com and other online wireless accessory stores.  Those who watch case releases report that cases can arrive in stores about two weeks before the release date.

An anonymous screenshot from the Samsung Galaxy Nexus shows 45% of battery life left, reportedly after 5 hours of heavy use and the brightness set to maximum.

There was a Costco screenshot that showed up,  that showed a price of $289.99 leading many to believe that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus would be priced around $299 like its Android cousins on the Verizon network.  There was also a screenshot that showed the the Samsung Galaxy Nexus (w/0 11/21)  W/0 means web only, which could mean preorders on the web starting November 21.  Previously a leak suggested a November 17 release date and another showed Cyber Monday.
