Some Verizon Wireless LTE customers had problems connecting to the network last night and early this morning.
4G LTE devices such the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Droid Charge, Droid RAZR, Pantech Breakout, Samsung Stratosphere, HTC ThunderBolt, HTC Rezound and 4G tablets or USB modems were unable to connect to the LTE network. The outage was not in all areas of the country. 3G data and voice devices are unaffected.
Over the weekend, there were issues reported with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus connectivity to the 4G LTE network. The problems may or may not be related. This is the second data outage this month. Some contend the network outage is due to the expansion of the network on December 15.
The Verizon Wireless News Twtitter feed reported "Data service restored for all 4G customers after issue in AM. 3G devices were unaffected. Voice, text worked for all customers throughout."
Some 3G users also reported problems.
The Verizon 4G LTE network by the end of 2011 includes 190 markets, 9 smartphones and coverage of 200 million.
