Top Ten Best Smartphones SprintThis has been a very exciting year for smartphones, there are more choices with greater options than ever before.   We've started rounding up all the top smartphones this year which will culminate in our very own "Wireless and Mobile News' Top Ten Best Hottest Coolest Smartphones of 2011."  Today, we looked at PCWorld's top ten picks for the best available smartphones as of December 1, 2011.

What we find most interesting as when we collect our review of reviews' is that smartphone reviews are always a bit subjective.  PC World's choices are slighty different from CNET's Best Top Ten Smartphones of 2011, as well asd Consumer Reports choices for Verizon WirelessT-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint.

There are some unexpected contenders we haven't seen in other top picks along with the usual suspects including the iPhone 4s and Samsung Galaxy SII.  This is first list where we have seen Windows Phones. We've listed the PCWorld top ten, along with their rating, the best price we could find and a summary of the Wireless and Mobile News Review of Reviews with links.

Wireless and Mobile News reviewed their best ratings to calculate what will be the top ten best hottest coolest smartphones of the year.  CNET does in-depth reviews and generally holds a good balance between tech-envy and practicality.

Update 2012 - We've rounded-up the 2012 results for best smartphone from Consumer Reports, T-Mobile, DT, HTC, Droid, Motorola, Sprint, AT&T, Verizon, trends, sales figures and the best for 2012.

CNET reviewers spend time evaluating the functions and features of smartphones and we take their opinions seriously.  In the past CNET,  loved the iPhone the most. While the iPhone dropped out other "best of 2011" lists this year, such as Consumer Reports, whose choices for Verizon WirelessT-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint are geared more toward usability, CNET still gave the iPhone top honors.

 Another first this year, is the inclusion of an unlocked smartphone the Samsung Galaxy Nexus which will eventually be released by Verizon Wireless but has recently been delayed.  We suggest you read the full reviews of the smartphones that interest you the most.
